10 Underrated Movies
I’m not really sure if they are underrated but I just really love them. Most of them are psychological thrillers.
Identity – starring John Cusack. I watched the DVD without knowing what it was about so I was shocked when I learned about the twist. Love love love it!!!
The Talented Mr. Ripley – great story line! Jude Law is hot and Matt Damon was just amazing here.
In late 1950’s New York, Tom Ripley, a young underachiever, is sent to Europe to retrieve a rich and spoiled millionaire playboy, named Dickie Greenleaf. But when the errand fails, Ripley kills the playboy and begins to assume his life.
Meet Joe Black – okay so Brad Pitt was so gorgeous here but I loved Anthony Hopkins’ character better.
A media mogul acts as a guide to Death, who takes the form of a young man to learn about life on Earth and in the process, fall in love with his guide’s daughter.
Vanilla Sky – Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz. A lot of people hated this movie. It’s intense and I would love to watch it over and over again.
A successful publisher finds his life taking a turn for the surreal after a car accident with a jaded lover.
The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind – Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. Anything that bends reality is always my favorite.
Lake House – Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. I loved this movie so much, yes because of the time travel / parallel dimension thing that I’m downloading the Korean version now.
Two people who were introduced and shared correspondence across the years by leaving letters in a mailbox at the lake house they’ve both lived in at separate points in time.
The Manchurian Candidate – Denzel Washington. Very good movie, you should watch it.
Captain Bennett Marco, Sergeant Raymond Shaw and the rest of their platoon are captured during the Korean War in 1952. They are all brainwashed into believing Shaw saved their lives in combat, for which he receives the Medal of Honor when they return to the United States. Years after the war is over, Marco, now an intelligence officer, begins to have a recurring nightmare in which Shaw murders two of his comrades while being watched by Chinese and Russian officials. When he learns that another platoon member has been having the same dream, he sets out to uncover the mystery.
Blades of Glory – great ice skating choreography with Will Ferrell and John Hader. Very funny!
Tropic Thunder – Ben Stiller. If you haven’t seen this, better watch it now. Tom Cruise was such a scene stealer here.
Zoolander - a very touching story about the life of the thin and beautiful. NOT! Hilarious still. Owen Wilson cracked me up big time.

What a fabulous list. There’s so many great ones. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and Lake House are one of my favorites too. I played as well.
Identity looks interesting. I’ll have to rent it. I played too! Check it out, HERE!
I don’t think I remember that movie coming out–”Identity” with John Cusack(whom I love). I’ll have to remember to look for that one.
Thanks for some more movie rental ideas, and I see we are in agreement on a few movies(Talented Mr. Ripley, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind)
I too had The Lake House on my list. Love that movie. In fact it makes me want to go and get it and sit down on the couch and veg-out while I watch.
Great list!
Mine’s up…come on over.
If I may be so bold in asking…while you’re over looking at my list would you please vote for a photo that I entered into a photo contest? All of the info is on my blog. Thanks so much if you do and if you don’t I completely understand.
