Booking Through Thursday: Unread
“So here today I present to you an Unread Books Challenge. Give me the list or take a picture of all the books you have stacked on your bedside table, hidden under the bed or standing in your shelf – the books you have not read, but keep meaning to. The books that begin to weigh on your mind. The books that make you cover your ears in conversation and say, ‘No! Don’t give me another book to read! I can’t finish the ones I have!’ “
Great topic this week. Here’s my list:
The God of Small Things – Arundhati Roy
One Hundred Years of Solitude – Gabriel Marquez
Lady Chatterley’s Lover – DH Lawrence
Crime and Punishment – Fyodor Dostoevsky
Both by Nick Bantock:
The Venetian Wife
Forgetting Room
They are unread because I am actually saving them. I want to read them when I have a whole day free with nothing to do but read so I can give them my undivided attention.

You can do that?? If I really like a book, I won’t wait for anything. well I have longer list than yours
One Hundred Years of Solitude is in my TBR too, but I’m not really too keen on reading it. It’s probably bcoz my copy has very small font. But I hope you do get the time to read them in leasure.
The God of Small Things is wonderful, shocking but wonderful. It’s one I will probably read again and again.
I’d love to save books for that, but time like tat never happens for me!
Hope your day comes soon. These look like books that will reward undivided attention!
I haven’t read ‘The God Of Small Things’ but all of the rest were great books. Happy BTT!
I have the God of Small Things in my large TBR pile. I’m saving it for my Canadian Book Challenge. I photographed my next ten reads here

I understand wanting to spend the day to read. I love to do that too. However, One Hundred Years of Solitude is a tough read; take it more slowly.
Ah, I have a few of those. My big one for this year is the new (not so new any more, actually) translation of The Three Musketeers. I completely understand waiting until you have time to dedicate to a book!
That’s too short! One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of the best books ever written. I envy you – reading it was one of the best experiences of my life.
