I WANT

Posted in what's up on September 25th, 2009 by admin – 2 Comments

… a vacation so bad.

… a designer handbag before the year ends.

… an extra machine strictly for designing.

… a straight, uninterrupted 12-hour sleep.

… to see Gong Yoo or Gavin Rossdale again in person.

… a full-time work so I don’t have to worry about finding new clients. Except I don’t want it to be as stressful as the last time.

Heads or Tails – Sign In

The theme/prompt for THIS week, September 22, is:

HEADS – “Book”
Use any form of the word “Book” in any kind of post.

Let me try this one before I do another research on the best weight loss pills for my cousin.

I can’t live in a world without books. Whether it’s a paperback or an ebook, which is always the case these days, it never fails to take me away to places I can only dream of. I escape through books, travel with interesting characters, immerse myself in a stream of complicated and dangerous happenings without having harm come to me in real life.  Of course, it’s the same with movies but with a book, I can have my own version of clothes, a different take on the place and all kinds of looks for the characters.

10 Things You Need to Plan For

Posted in online life, what's up on September 22nd, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

1. December parties! We have too many Christmas parties lined up that we had to schedule some of them as early as October.

2. My husband’s schedule for his Singapore trip for this year’s F1 race.

3. Our 6th wedding anniversary this November

4. Our finances monthly. Need to keep track where everything is going.

5. My daughter’s and future kids’ education

6. Vacations and travels

7. Our weekly menu so we can shop for groceries wisely.

8. Project schedules. I’m overbooked!

9. Retirement plans. My husband and I plan to buy a vacation house near the beach when we are old and gray. :)

10. House plans. For our future dream home, yeah!

Food and Vampires – One Fun Night

There’s now a reason for me to hunt for affordable Disney Tickets aside from having my daughter experience it. And that is the Epcot Food and Wine festival at the Epcot theme park. Imagine the pleasure of tasing every incredible cuisine and wine from all over the world as the theme park gets transformed into a food lover’s paradise. And that’s not just the adult-oriented attraction at Disney. For Halloween, you can enjoy the seductive scares and hordes of model vampires ready to turn you into vampires. With the success of Twilight books/movies and Vampire Diaries because of hot celebrities, it’s no wonder that this attraction will be a popular one. Check the Orlando Fun Tickets for more attractions and happenings that everyone in the family can enjoy.

Stressful Week

Posted in work on September 20th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

I just had one stressful week work-wise. Too many projects at the same time with myself entirely to be blamed. I’ve accepted so many designs because I’m worried that I won’t have enough for this month without even checking my schedule. Turned out I’m already swamped as it is. But I can handle this, I know I can. The only thing that’s making everything stressful is that I am so torn between turning off the laptop and spending time with the family. It’s not like I can work 24 hours a day right?

When and with whom was your first kiss?
I’ve had a few first kisses but I was either too young or it was too quick that I don’t think they count. The first real one was March 1996 with my 2nd boyfriend.

Do you believe that everything happens for a reason?
Sometimes but when it gets so bad, you just can’t help but ask why.

What would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
“I’ve been waiting for you.”

Paintball Gear Research

A client of mine wants to put up a paintball business here next year and asked my help in researching for the right location. Aside from that, he’s also paying me to look for affordable paintball guns. The first site that I saw is zephyrpaintaball.com which provides all kinds of paintball gear at the lowest prices. Aside from Tippmann Paintball Guns ranging from $299 to $479 (didn’t know guns could cost that much!) and other safety gears, they also sell casual clothing, barrels, goggles, harnesses and bags, scenario gears and other miscellaneous items. They have package specials, clearance items, monthly giveaways and free items like lanyard, shirts, mats and ground shipping. Definitely a paintballer’s paradise if you ask me.

Pigging Out

Posted in food, home on September 18th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Just ordered a huge cake and a bucket of fried chicken for my daughter’s birthday. My mom arrived this morning to cook some of her specialty dishes so I have no doubt that I’ll be needing a weight loss pill by the end of the month. We’ve been eating like a horse for the past couple of weeks and have put aside our diet plans because it’s our daughter’s birthday month. Of course, we can always stay on a diet but why ruin a perfectly planned month when you can just enjoy the celebration. We can always worry about the extra weight next month.

I will resume my diet though because I wouldn’t want to be too heavy when December comes. The parties alone can make me gain four to six pounds so I need to have a very good plan if I want to stay in shape by January.

Shopping Influence

My brother wouldn’t believe me when I told him that the price for a motorcycle jack online ranges $48.99 to $348.99. He’s been looking for one and the cheapest he can get is no less than $100. So now, thanks to yours truly, he’s getting addicted to online window shopping too. Soon he’ll be like me and buy all his gadgets and toys online. And why not? Coupon codes and discounts are dime a dozen it’s a crime not to take advantage of them all. Well, that’s if you listen to your shopaholic side talking.

Seriously though, Amazon, Buy.com and Ebay are now my dearest friends.

Ten on Tuesday – 10 Cool Things

iPod Videos — I can’t leave without them. It’s a must for parents who can’t turn on their TV sets at night because the little ones are sleeping

High end cellphones — that are not just for calling and texting. Amazing how most of them resemble mini computers now functionality-wise. I love how you can surf the net, read ebooks, take 5MP photos with a small gadget.

Facebook/Social Networking – the ability to contact old friends from high school, elementary never cease to amaze me.

And these from various sites and places all around the world.

Underwater Sculpture Park

The Underwater Sculpture Park is the work of sculptor Jason Taylor from England, who has a passion for creating fantastic and unique pieces of work depicting Grenada’s colourful history and folklore and placing them underwater. All of the sculptures are in beautiful clear shallow water easily accessible by divers and snorkelers. The sculptures end up creating artificial reefs, and enhancing the marine environment.
