All I Want

Posted in what's up on October 28th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Guess what I’m asking for Christmas? The words certified diamonds come to mind but I have to be practical once more. Instead of my much-wanted diamond bracelet, I want a new home. Hah! Well, it is more expensive than a bracelet but much more practical in the long run, don’t you think? Seriously, we are going to double our effort to save up for the construction of our dream home. This means more design projects for me and more overtime for my husband. Less shopping too, if I can help it. ;)

New Way to Lose Weight

Posted in health on October 27th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Have you heard of Kettlebells? It looks interesting. I’m always looking for new ways to be fit. I get bored easily with treadmill and stationary bike. And I don’t get to run outside the house anymore because of too much work. I need something that can be done inside our room in a short span of time. And according to the site, Kettlebells can sculpt lean muscle, eliminate fat in only 20 minutes, three times a week. Sounds good huh? But I like to see reviews from friends before I decide on anything. After all, I can’t very well buy another fitness equipment when we have a fully working treadmill at home.

Career Change

Posted in work on October 24th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

I’ve been helping my friend in her DC Job Search since last week. She said she wants to move to greener pastures but won’t be quitting her job until she finds a better one. She badly needs to relocate as she’s tired of the city she’s living in. All I can say is, how wonderful it is to have choices like that. To decide to move to one place without thinking of changing someone’s life or being courageous enough to live in a new place without knowing anyone. I don’t think I can ever do that unless I already have an offer that I can’t refuse. And I should be single too because I want the decision to affect my life alone, not my family.

I Hate The Cold

I can’t stand it. I’m the only one in the family who can’t sleep with the air conditioner on except during summertime. My husband and daughter both love the cold and gets very comfortable even without blankets. Me on the other hand would need an electric blanket plus my thickest PJs and socks during the BER months just to get by at night. Which makes me I wonder how I’ll be able to enjoy our Disney trip this January. I’m definitely going to stock up on warm coats, heavy duty scarves and layered sweaters. A friend told me the temperature can go as low as 10C. That thought alone makes me shiver. Why? Our air conditioner is usually set at 19C-20C. Yes, the same temperature where I need plenty of clothes just to get some sleep.

Anniversary Invitation

I’ve never received any Wedding Anniversary Invitations my whole life. Either I was too young to attend someone celebrating their gold wedding in the family or people don’t just go handing out 50th wedding anniversary invitations anymore. But I believe a wedding anniversary party is as important as your wedding day and should be given the same detail and attention.

The CardsShoppe thinks the same way too which is why they offer very unique wedding anniversary invitation designs that will remind you and your loved ones how you managed to stay strong read more »

Monday TO-Dos

Posted in graphics and web design, work on October 19th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Research about rv repair for a client of mine. This is one of the tasks that is part of my being a virtual assistant to him.

Order business cards for the same client. This has been in the back burner for a week now.

More meetings this week. I hate going to meetings mainly because of having to travel and battle traffic. Thank God for good food though. I had a medium-rare steak during our last meeting which made the travel worth it.

Design 12 user interface screens for a twitter like application that I’m working on.

Take it easy on Friday.

Prepared for Hospital Bills

Posted in health, money on October 17th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Finding cheap health insurance is easy with the help of Internet. Just type it in Google and you’ll get plenty of options to choose from. This is why I don’t understand why some people still prefer not to have one when they can obviously afford the annual premiums. I’ve seen how much savings you can get in the long run if you have health insurance. Medical emergencies are unexpected and can totally leave a huge dent on your wallet. And even if you think you can afford to pay for your professional fees and room and board, chances are you’d still have to touch some of the money you’ve saved. Hospitals bills are brutal and you’d be glad to have insurance when the time comes that you’ll need all the financial help you can get.

New (?) New Moon Poster – Love It!

Edward’s left hand is a bit weird but at least Bela looks like she’s more passionately in love here than afraid. The Cullens looked great too and close enough to how beautiful they were described in the book.

And may I say I had goose bumps just seeing the words “The Next Chapter Begins.”?

Great poster! More heart-stopping photos here. Click it, you won’t regret it.

Baptism Religious Stationery for Invites

Christening Invitation

Christening Invitation

Have you tried any of the Baptism Religious Stationery from CardsPersonalized? I’m looking for some nice Christening invitations for my friend and came across their site at http://www.cardspersonalized.com. Thought we could make use of their unique designs and same day printing and shipping. They don’t just offer Baptism invitation too. I saw several religious cards like First Communion invitations and simple sympathy cards that you can send to friends who are grieving or sick.

I like that you can personalize the cards simply by uploading any photo or changing the text color and fonts.  It’s almost impossible not to find something that you like from their collection. But if somehow you don’t see anything that appeals to you, CardsPersonalized can design a new one just for you.

A Better Bathroom

Posted in home on October 15th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

After a long day at work (or at the mall if you’re lucky), we long to come home to a nice, long bath. Women have this need to soak their weary bodies in warm and soapy water for at least two hours. This is why most houses invest on state-of-the-art bathrooms because this room is definitely not just for bathing. It should be as comfortable as your bedroom and may I say, as clean.

For people like me though who don’t have that much budget, we can always shop at BetterBathrooms.com. If you’ll look at their site now, you’ll see a huge banner saying STOCK CLEARANCE for Bathroom Suites, with up to 55% off. Aside from suites/packaged bathrooms, they sell these separately – tiles, taps, baths, whirlpool, shower systems, radiators and other kinds of bathroom accessories. And if you really want to go all out, check out their Jacuzzi collection. Their clearance sale is site wide so it applies to Jacuzzis as well.

A quick browse showed me these nice bathroom sets.
