Unseen Protection

image These days, using a Hidden Camera inside the house is not as unusual as five years ago when people are worried about violating privacy. I’m saying this for parents who work outside the house and has no choice but leave their kids to their caretakers. And if you’ve seen the videos circulating the web of abusive nannies, you’d feel the same way too.

Hidden or spy cameras can be bought everywhere. I saw several undetectable cameras at the Brick House Security online shop ranging from $99 to $599. Most of them are used as a normal appliance in the house like digital clock, tissue box, floodlight, smoke detector, mailbox and key chain. Features also range from something as simple as video surveillance to video recorder, body heat detectors to motion detectors, wireless to night vision and even mobile ones that you can take anywhere.

10 Things That Make You Feel Old

Posted in online life, what's up on October 13th, 2009 by admin – 3 Comments

1. Raven, Hannah Montana, Carly and any kids from Nick or Disney channel that are now wearing make up and skimpy clothes

2. Emo style – fashion, music

3. The girls from Gossip Girl TV series and their never-ending legs.

4. Seeing friends from elementary and high school with their kids (aged 10 and up) in tow.

5. The mere mention of clubbing with young cousins makes me cringe

6. Me preferring to have a nice lovely dinner with friends instead of partying all night at some dark, hip place with expensive booze and 20-year-olds

7. Whenever I see my younger cousins who I used to treat like babies. They are all grown up now and either have a career on their own or having relationships left and right.

8. Expanding thighs

9. The mirror

10. My whole body aching after a long day at the mall.

I’m not that old though. Just feel like it. :D

On Online Tutor System

I love Math. So much that I used to tutor my brother when he needs some Algebra help. That experience showed me how hard to teach someone if you don’t have the right teaching skills. If you’re a student who is struggling with Math problems, I recommend this site called Tutorvista.com. Tutor Vista offers all kinds of tutoring packages that you can do from the comforts of your home. Connect with a tutor using your computer and you can get personalized one-on-one tutoring at a fraction of what learning centres usually cost.

Learn the answers to all your Algebra word problems in a fun and interactive way. If you will look at the photo below, you’ll see the virtual whiteboard workspace that you and your tutor can draw and write to as your tutoring session progresses.

High School Graduation Party Invitations

High School Graduation Party Invitations

My youngest and most favorite cousin is graduating from High School. As a gift for her, I’ve decided to shoulder her High School Graduation Announcements so we can share with everyone in the family the recent success of our “baby”. We’re having a party too so we’ll have to get a high school graduation party invitation at GraduationCardsShop website as well. This is a big deal for the family as she’s the last in our generation to ever graduate in school. We won’t have any celebrations except in the next three or four years when she finishes College or when our kids (all pre-K) enter primary school. read more »

I’ll Never Get Tired of Reading

Posted in art, entertainment, home, online life on October 8th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

about …

Travels – where to go, how much the packages are, where to eat

Losing weight – the right diet, diet pills, exercise program, hip-hop routines, pilates, yoga.

Movies – top 10, 50, 100; great movie dialogues, from books to big screen

Hollywood gossip – just can’t get enough of this. It has been my guilty pleasure for so long.

Food / restaurant reviews – not just the hottest place but also the most hidden and not-so-popular ones. I also like those restaurants that can accommodate a few people at the same time. Then there’s also food festivals and wine/alcohol events.

Design / art – I want to surround myself with all types of art. I’m not one of those artsy-fartsy types. I just want to be consistently amazed by art whether it’s good or bad.

Invitations St Patrick's Day Party

My friends and I love celebrating St. Patricks Day for one reason. Beer and lots of beer! Seriously. If you read the St Patricks Invitations at Invitations-Shoppe, you’ll know that this day is all about fun and partying! Well aside from the real reason of course which is to mark the death of Ireland’s patron saint. Irish or non-Irish however, we still get excited whenever we see party invitations St Patrick’s Day whether it’s in our inboxes.

Now that you found another reason to party, check out the unique St Patricks party invitations at http://www.invitations-shoppe.com. They will print and ship your St Patricks Day invitations the same day you approve the proofs. And if you don’t like the designs that they have online, the guys from Invitations-Shoppe will come up with a special card design for you.

Personally though, who wouldn’t be able to resist these words “kiss me, I’m irish”?

Friday Fill-Ins

Posted in online life, what's up on October 5th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Not exactly a Friday but what the heck:

1. Sweet dreams is something that rarely happens to me. I’m not complaining because a dreamless sleep means I’m fully rested.
2. I heard the unmistakable sound of a delivery van and I wonder if there’s something especially for me.
3. Silliness makes everyday interesting.
4. I’m dressing up as a Korean High School girl this Halloween. I wish! haha. I don’t have the thighs to pull it off.
5. Outstanding or not I won’t buy anything that is ridiculously expensive. Or so I say …  haha. We’ll see.
6. A 12-hour uninterrupted sleep is what I want right now!

Switching to Gold and Silver

Precious metals like gold have been around thousands of years ago. However, plenty of people are still unaware how powerful this kind of investment can be. For one, it can protect you against the declining U.S. dollars. Gold is being traded all throughout the world and not dependent on the rise and fall of dollars.

Very Lucky, This Month Is

Posted in work on October 5th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Pardon the Yoda-speak. I just came across EPISODE 1 on TV and it seems I caught an L-M-S (last movie syndrome), if such thing exists. I am feeling lucky though. It’s only the first week of October and I’ve already booked three design projects. I have so much to be thankful for. Although I am still unemployed (that word makes me cringe), I’m doing well just by being a freelancer. So much that when an old colleague offered me a job, I had to think twice before applying. I’m not sure if I can handle all the stress that came with that old job but luckily, he mentioned a part-time schedule – around 20 hours a week while I’m trying to get the hang of things. Suits me right and I hope the outcome will be a positive one.

I hope the blessings will continue to pour. Not just for me but for those who have been affected badly by typhoon Ondoy.

Type Baby Showers That You Can Choose From

Baby Shower InvitationDeciding on the right Type Baby Showers for your friends can both be exciting and frustrating. Frustrating if there are more than five of you planning the baby shower and yet all of you have different ideas on how to go about it. When something like this happens, it helps to check out websites like Birth-Cards and get ideas from the types baby shower that they have to offer.

And while you’re http://www.birth-cards.com, go get your baby shower invitations from their site as well. I love how you can easily get your message across with their wordings. Check out this one – “Bring only necessities, for they have plenty of toys”. It’s a subtle way of saying no toys for gifts! Their unique designs can be easily customized with your own text or a photo of the expecting parents. The invitation will also serve as another memento of this joyous occasion as you welcome the most important person in your life.

Investing on Web Design Biz

Posted in computers, graphics and web design, money, work on October 3rd, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

Things a web designer should invest on when working from home.

1. A powerful enough machine that can handle multiple graphic software and web development tools.

2. You can never have enough file back ups. Aside from your extra hard disks, go get an online backup service as well.

3. Although you can get cheaper or even free photo editing tools, nothing beats Adobe Master Suite collection – Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Illustrator.

4. An antispyware software to protect not just your files but your clients as well when uploading to their servers.

5. Hosting and domain name for your portfolio. You can also use the hosting space for uploading your artwork and assets.

6. Generator or UPS for unexpected power shortages.

7. Fast and reliable internet connection.
