Excited

Posted in travel on January 27th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

One more day before our Hong Kong trip! I’m so excited that I can’t concentrate on my glass tiles research for my mom. She’ll probably call me ten times today but I just can’t stop browsing one forum after another so I can maximize our trip. From shopping to cab rates to good eats, I need to take note of all of them because we rarely get to travel out of the country. We have to get our money’s worth! With the new baby coming in the next couple of months, I’m sure we won’t be able to go anywhere until she/he’s about 7 or 8 months.

Gadget Freak

I’m planning of selling our camcorder and then just buy a new one when we go to Hong Kong in two days. I wanted something that I can easily plug in and out of my laptop. However, practicality sets in because we don’t really use our camcorder that much. Plus I’m happy to use my Canon iXus to record stuff because the quality is so good and it’s very portable too. So now, I’ll just wait until the baby comes out before deciding on upgrading any of our gadgets. We have so much that I don’t think we’ll have to buy anything new. It’s just my shopaholic tendencies that’s making me want to check out the online stores and discount shops even if there’s no need.

Public Parking

Posted in what's up on January 19th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

My friend needs to get a cheap auto insurance ASAP. I found out that he moved to a new flat and that his neighborhood isn’t that secured. Every other day, a side mirror gets lost or a hubcap gets stolen. It doesn’t help that he doesn’t have a garage and his only option is to park in the public parking area. I told him to pay for one of those overnight parking near his place but when he did the math, it turned out to be really expensive. Yes, expensive than getting auto insurance! Anyway, the best thing he can do really is move again to a much better neighborhood. You may be paying more but at least you know your most prized possessions are not at risk of getting destroyed or stolen.

Thank You Gifts

Just saw how much my client paid me today. When I told my husband about it, his eyes got huge. But that’s because it’s about three months worth of design work and if you think about it that way, you wouldn’t be as surprised. Still, I’d like to give him a few Rocky Patel cigars or a really great wine just to show my thanks. After all, he still have so many projects lined up for me this year that I can consider everything I purchase for him a future investment.

Time for a Change

Finding jobs in south jersey turned out to be easy, according to my friend who wanted a change. At first, she was hesitant to move but she really fell in love with the house that her auntie gave her so the house was the deciding factor. And since she’s very good at what she does as a brand manager, she immediately snagged a job. I’m happy for her. She deserves the house and the new job after the hardships she went through two years ago with her ex-husband.

Just finished a design job for an identity theft protection review site and I’m trying taking it easy now. There are so many projects lined up next week so I need all the rest I can get. Weekends are supposed to be spent with my family yet here I am at 8PM, just getting ready to shut down my computer. Lucky for me, my husband is out on a basketball game and my daughter is busy playing with her cousin who’s having a sleep over. Instead of “ME” time, I spent three hours working just to be able to lessen my to-do list for next week. It’s all good though. We’re going out of the country at the end of this month to see Disneyland and will definitely get the much needed vacation that I deserve.

Celebrity Moms – Back in Shape in Weeks

Posted in entertainment, health, websites on January 15th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

And now that I mentioned the new celebrity moms, let me just post a few photos of them three of four months after giving birth. You’d probably want to read on new diet pills that you don’t know about but this post is not about that. It’s to inspire you to lose that weight through regular exercise and healthy diet. And if you don’t know this yet, breastfeeding can make you lose weight so fast you’d be back in your old body in six to eight months.

Trista Sutter (5 months)

And I know 5 weeks is too much for mere mortals like us so let me share this snippet from eatsmartgetsmart.com

When a celebrity gives birth (often by a scheduled, voluntary c-section) many immediately receive a tummy tuck. Once they are home, they bring in their (already assembled and waiting in the wings) team of professionals whose sole duty is to get the celeb back into red carpet shape. Often a publicity deal is already in the works with a magazine selected to cover her miraculous return to the spot light.

This team is made up a personal trainer, a masseuse, yoga instructor, Pilates instructor, nutritionist and personal chef. More often than not, little pills are often taken. (Remember the Rolling Stones song, “Mother’s Little Helper”?) They devote their entire day to this. Every other annoyance is taken care for them. Changing diapers? Please!

Celebs and Their Bad Days

You probably think that celebrities never needed treatment for acne their whole lives. You’re wrong. Brittney Spears for one, is very popular with her acne breakouts. They just have more money to buy expensive treatments.

It’s the same thing with celebrity moms who magically go back to their old bodies. Either they have personal chefs to cook them South Beach meals or trainers barking at them 24/7 to exercise or a very expensive package with their favorite plastic surgeons.

Keeping The Pounds Away

Posted in health, home on January 11th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

And speaking of keeping your bodies in shape, let’s talk about fat burner. Some fat burners not only serve as weight loss supplement but an overall health supplement. Although slower than other popular brands, this type of fat burner is much safer because of the stimulant it contains. For faster results such as Fenphedra, you may lose a lot in a short amount of time but your body might not be able to handle the stimulants that comes with the drug. I’ve seen a few people lose weight for two or three weeks and have all the pounds back after a week or so. Choosing a fat burner depends on your goal – do you want to wear that bridesmaid’s dress in a month or want to keep the pounds away by losing them slowly and exercising regularly. At the end of the day, if you want to stay strong and healthy, nothing really beats the old, good exercise and healthy diet.

High Cholesterol Levels

Posted in food, health, home on January 11th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Do you know that one out of five adults suffer from high cholesterol. What’s even more disturbing is the number of young people being diagnosed of hypertensive, diabetes and heart diseas because of high cholesterol levels in their bodies. This is why I’m reading about cholesterol supplements for me and my husband. We’ve always been living on a high fat diet and no time to exercise regularly. Now that we’re trying to live a healthy lifestyle, why not go all and get a supplement as well. I know I need to research more thoroughly about this. I’m very serious in keeping our cholesterols in check and our bodies in top shape.

On Bad Skin

I read from differin reviews online that the cons of this treatment consists of burning, stinging, dry skin, itching, peeling and redness. And the fact that it doesn’t work for everybody makes me even more hesitant to try it if ever I get bad acne. Good thing there are reviews online such as this because it makes it easy for consumers to decide which treatment will be right for them. Armed with the right knowledge, non-biased reviews and more extensive research, finding the right cure for your stubborn acne can be within reach. In fact, this doesn’t apply to skin problems alone but on purchasing drugs, diet plans and treatments in general. Being extra cautious can save you a lot of heartaches and money if you think about it.

Currently doing some background research for a design I need to work on. It’s for a company based in Florida and they want to pitch their location so I had a look at some photos to get a feel for the possible visuals for the Sunshine State. Florida looked like a great place to visit and I was soon looking at Orlando vacation packages, as if we could afford the trip. Who knows?
