Wedding Stuff

Posted in home, websites on March 28th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

I love looking at wedding web sites. Everything is just so white and clean no matter what color I’m looking at. I enjoy browsing through them that wedding web sites are one of the categories that I like to design. Along with parenting / baby online shops, computer / gadgets and fashion.

But back to weddings, when my friend asked me to help her source for wedding accessories, I immediately agreed. I can’t think of anything better to do in my free time than look at nice little tiaras, fabulous bride jewelries and lovely shoes and purses to complete the look of the “blushing” bride.

Work, Diet and Money

Happy to announce that I just snagged a very nice-paying gig for a website re-design. I guess all my lucky charms from last Chinese New Year are working! My goals, money-wise are almost within reach so I’m very satisfied.

Wish I could say the same for my husband, though. He’s now close to trying a weight loss product that we saw on TV after his failed attempt at dieting and exercise. I told him to give the treadmill one more shot and if he’s still too tired to run, then he can try anything as long as he has spent a lot of time researching about it.

Now if I could just force myself to be creative and get started with a few mockups.

Costume play or “Cosplay” is a type of performance art wherein the participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character which is often drawn from popular fiction in Japan. There are plenty but let me just post here my favorites. I love anime, manga but Cosplay usually makes me laugh. However, these photographs were so good that it seems I could hear the theme song being played in the background.

At Home

I heard my neighbor discussing about septic tank cleaner with her friend via phone and all I can think about is how suburban and domesticated I’ve become. Mind you, I still have a helper to cook and clean the house but gone are the days when conversations range from music, art, foreign films and travel. Lately, it has been renovating, lot hunting, recipes, baby-proofing and finding the right preschool. I am not complaining however. Life just gets better each day and I’m glad that I’m earning enough money without leaving the house. Thank God for those who made telecommuting a trend.

New Desktop

We were at the mall last weekend when we save these amazing 0% interest promos for desktop computers. The timing was perfect because I’ve been planning to buy a second machine to give my DELL Studio 1735 a rest. The monthly rates are really good if you don’t have a machine to compare it to. However, the processors, hard disk space and memory are close it not the same to my Studio laptop. So there’s really no point in upgrading, after some careful thinking. There are more desktops to choose from that I would love to get my hands on except the monthly isn’t as light anymore. I’d probably need to sacrifice one of my monthly pleasures such as 2 hour-massages or eating out at nice restaurants just to afford it. I could in 3 or 4 months but a whole year will be overdoing it. I guess I’ll just get one when I have enough money to pay in full.

Lose to Win

My husband and I made a deal. If he lose 20 lbs in one year, I will get him anything that he want within a reasonable price and reason. As for his list ,see below:

He said he wanted stainless steel drums and a last week but not he prefers a new…. I’m all fine with both but only if we can get to move to our own place next year. He really needs his own room for all his musical instruments.

A very colorful and not so big tattoo on his forearm. I used to say no whenever he brings up the subject of getting inked but if it would mean him losing all his extra weight, I’d be more than happy to oblige.

A telephoto lens. I could definitely save up and buy this myself or give him the go ahead to buy one. Upgrade to SUV. Now this is way more expensive than the other three but it will benefit the whole family so I’m game if budget allows.

Before and After Photos

I love extra cash as much as the next guy. But if there’s one thing that I’d rather not do, it’s optimizing before and after photos for cosmetic web sites. The blackhead treatment photos are not so bad but if they are not zoomed in. But dental cosmetics are on a whole new different level. I’m not overreacting but there’s this one project when I did nothing but re-size the images and I didn’t have much appetite afterwards. What more if I have to edit them as well, which would require me to zoom in until the reddish gums, broken teeth are too big for me to think of anything at all. The after photos are fine and I love how the dentists really make a difference with their smiles. I’m thinking looking at the close up photos would be fine as long as I can get a new smile as a payment.
