Dating Humor

Posted in entertainment, online life on October 25th, 2011 by admin – Be the first to comment

Thanks to technology, anyone can meet a friend, a lifelong partner or a husband/wife without having to go out there and brave the single scene. With free online dating websites, you can get to know the person first via chat and email until you’re comfortable enough to meet them. Of course, there are plenty of horror stories but why let that stop you from meeting people when you’re just too busy to waste time having blind dates and failed first dates because you have nothing in common.

Having said that, I’d like to share some funny strips that I found online about dating in general. Enjoy!

Movie Characters

We are having a costume party for Christmas and the theme is Hollywood films. I’m trying to decide based on which will be the cheapest for me to do. After seeing how much it will cost me to get a pair of equestrian boots for Nicole Kidman’s role in Australia, I’d probably go for something which will cost less. Maybe the white swan from Black Swan (because my 1.5 year old daughter was scared of the black version), White Queen from Alice in Wonderland or the befallen Sayuri from Memoirs of a Geisha. All of them require white complicated make up so that’s something I need to practice.

Wish me luck! I still have no idea on who my kids will be but the husband already have something in mind for himself.

The Ring

I have an important task today and that is to review the engagement rings that my soon-to-be engaged friend (he hopes) wants to buy. I told him to ask his girlfriend’s friends, not me because they probably know what she likes. Aside from that, I’m not exactly the best person to ask when it comes to jewelry but since it has to be a surprise, I have no choice but to help him out. I don’t like it and she may hate it but a friend’s gotta do what she has to.

Having said that, I’d like to share with you one postcard from PostSecret that is related to this.

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail
in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard

Celebrity Moms with Abs

You can’t have too many ab workouts if you want to go out looking like this. These celebrity moms had more than one child so it’s pretty amazing how they can easily go back into shape. We all wish we can look like them but I’d be more than happy if I can just lose the extra flabs. No need to have those beautifully defined abs as long as I can wear short tops that don’t show any white, dough-looking flesh.

Old Sounds

My husband unearthed my old computer speakers this morning. I thought he’s going to add it to the items being sold on our garage sale but turned out he’s planning on using them as home speakers. After tinkering with it for a few minutes, he was able to set it up with his laptop and synced with his amplifiers. I wasn’t sure at first on what the quality will be but it sounded impressive based from the music coming out of the “music” room. Guess we know now where he’ll be spending most of his time.

With that said, let me leave you with this video of Gavin Rossdale singing “Forever You May Run”.

Amazon’s Amazing Kindle

Book lovers around the world have united to sing the praise of the Kindle! Every few years, technology takes a running leap in a new direction, and suddenly makes the world – or a part of it – change for the better. The Amazon Kindle is just one of those things. It retains almost everything that is good about reading a book, and just does away with all the negatives.

The most amazing thing about Kindle is the splendid way in which it replicates the reading experience of an actual book. The screen of the Kindle is a brilliant technical innovation. It looks almost exactly like a real book. Unlike reading on a backlit device (like a laptop) there’s little strain on the eyes when using Kindle. Their excellent e-ink technology lets you read for hours without straining your eyes. read more »

Red-Hot Poker

So, you have your buddies over every night, you’ve got your custom-made poker tables for multiple games at the same time, and you think you’re a hot-shot. Tournament time? Not so fast. It’s time for an important life lesson: there will always be someone better than you.

What’s that you say? You know that’s true in amateur boxing, karate, golf and the latest iteration of the Halo franchise, but surely it doesn’t apply for you in poker? Not your master game, surely. Not the domain over which you reign as lord and king, deigning to take the money of the peasants and serve them only cheap beer in return.
