I’ll Never Get Tired of Reading

Posted in art, entertainment, home, online life on October 8th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

about …

Travels – where to go, how much the packages are, where to eat

Losing weight – the right diet, diet pills, exercise program, hip-hop routines, pilates, yoga.

Movies – top 10, 50, 100; great movie dialogues, from books to big screen

Hollywood gossip – just can’t get enough of this. It has been my guilty pleasure for so long.

Food / restaurant reviews – not just the hottest place but also the most hidden and not-so-popular ones. I also like those restaurants that can accommodate a few people at the same time. Then there’s also food festivals and wine/alcohol events.

Design / art – I want to surround myself with all types of art. I’m not one of those artsy-fartsy types. I just want to be consistently amazed by art whether it’s good or bad.

Invitations St Patrick's Day Party

My friends and I love celebrating St. Patricks Day for one reason. Beer and lots of beer! Seriously. If you read the St Patricks Invitations at Invitations-Shoppe, you’ll know that this day is all about fun and partying! Well aside from the real reason of course which is to mark the death of Ireland’s patron saint. Irish or non-Irish however, we still get excited whenever we see party invitations St Patrick’s Day whether it’s in our inboxes.

Now that you found another reason to party, check out the unique St Patricks party invitations at http://www.invitations-shoppe.com. They will print and ship your St Patricks Day invitations the same day you approve the proofs. And if you don’t like the designs that they have online, the guys from Invitations-Shoppe will come up with a special card design for you.

Personally though, who wouldn’t be able to resist these words “kiss me, I’m irish”?

If there’s one thing that my husband would love to receive this Christmas, it will be a Direct TV subscription. I can’t blame him because just like him, I’m a self-confessed TV addict. The only difference is that we don’t watch the same shows. I looked at the packages of Directv and was happy to note that they have over 31 channels for movies alone! The premere package boasts of 250 channels including 66 premium movie and sports channels (hollywood hits, classic, independent and original movies, original series, and many more.) read more »

Changing the channels every 5 seconds.

Most of the time yes. Especially when I’m not looking my most fabulous self.

    Putting on lipstick.
  4. What is one thing that you have bought that you could just kick yourself for buying and why?
Too many pairs of shoes when I don’t go out everyday.
  5. If you could change one annoying habit your better half has what would it be?
Not really a habit but he needs to learn how to control his temper. read more »

Food and Vampires – One Fun Night

Posted in entertainment on September 21st, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

There’s now a reason for me to hunt for affordable Disney Tickets aside from having my daughter experience it. And that is the Epcot Food and Wine festival at the Epcot theme park. Imagine the pleasure of tasing every incredible cuisine and wine from all over the world as the theme park gets transformed into a food lover’s paradise. And that’s not just the adult-oriented attraction at Disney. For Halloween, you can enjoy the seductive scares and hordes of model vampires ready to turn you into vampires. With the success of Twilight books/movies and Vampire Diaries because of hot celebrities, it’s no wonder that this attraction will be a popular one. Check the Orlando Fun Tickets for more attractions and happenings that everyone in the family can enjoy.

Paintball Gear Research

Posted in entertainment, gadgets, websites on September 19th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

A client of mine wants to put up a paintball business here next year and asked my help in researching for the right location. Aside from that, he’s also paying me to look for affordable paintball guns. The first site that I saw is zephyrpaintaball.com which provides all kinds of paintball gear at the lowest prices. Aside from Tippmann Paintball Guns ranging from $299 to $479 (didn’t know guns could cost that much!) and other safety gears, they also sell casual clothing, barrels, goggles, harnesses and bags, scenario gears and other miscellaneous items. They have package specials, clearance items, monthly giveaways and free items like lanyard, shirts, mats and ground shipping. Definitely a paintballer’s paradise if you ask me.

Booking Through Thursday – Recent Worst

I’ve been waiting for a topic like this ever since I finished reading “Thirteen Reasons Why” by Jay Asher.

image

From Booklist:

When Clay Jenson plays the casette tapes he received in a mysterious package, he’s surprised to hear the voice of dead classmate Hannah Baker. He’s one of 13 people who receive Hannah’s story, which details the circumstances that led to her suicide. Clay spends the rest of the day and long into the night listening to Hannah’s voice and going to the locations she wants him to visit. The text alternates, sometimes quickly, between Hannah’s voice (italicized) and Clay’s thoughts as he listens to her words, which illuminate betrayals and secrets that demonstrate the consequences of even small actions. Hannah, herself, is not free from guilt, her own inaction having played a part in an accidental auto death and a rape. The message about how we treat one another, although sometimes heavy, makes for compelling reading.

I’ve always loved psychological thrillers but this one let me down. I did get excited about finding a box of cassette tapes from someone who just recently died but that’s about it. The reasons are not just good enough for me.

Booking Through Thursday: Recent Serious

The most recent serious book I’ve read is Nineteen Minutes by Jody Picoult.

imageIn nineteen minutes, you can mow the front lawn, color your hair, watch a third of a hockey game. In nineteen minutes, you can bake scones or get a tooth filled by a dentist; you can fold laundry for a family of five….In nineteen minutes, you can stop the world, or you can just jump off it. In nineteen minutes, you can get revenge.

This affected me so much because as a parent, you couldn’t help but wonder about your child when they start going to school.

10 Favorite Characters from Television

Posted in entertainment on August 4th, 2009 by admin – 4 Comments

Top 10 just won’t do it because I am a self-confessed TV addict. Still, I’ll try and just list the characters off the top of my head.

image

Chandler and Joey from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. They have amazing chemistry and much funnier when they are delivering their lines with each other. Stupid and sarcastic.

image

Homer Simpson – Because there’s a little Homer inside of us.

image

Jordan Catalano from My So-Called Life. Played by Jared Leto opposite Clair Danes. He was my first crush ever.

image

Preston Burke from Grace Anatomy. Too bad they had to fire him. I really like how he became a softie when he met Christina.

image
J.D. and Turk from Scrubs – their imaginations are wild!

image
Shawn Spencer from PSYCH – This guy is hilarious. Watch this if you haven’t seen it yet.

 image

McDreamy from Grace Anatomy – swoon.

image
Joey Potter from Dawson’s Creek. Can’t help but miss the old Katie Holmes

image

Matt Camden from 7th Heaven played by Barry Watson

image

Ray Romano from Everybody Loves Raymond. Gawd, I miss this weird guy and his equally weird family.

Thank You for The Music

image I can’t live in a world without Mp3 players. How else can I enjoy my favorite songs when I’m running, traveling, waiting somewhere (at the mall maybe) or just hanging out in the park. Even when I’m in front of the computer, I’d still rather use my iPod than turn on my laptop’s music player. Same thing applies when I clean our room. I know I could always just use the stereo or CD player but I’d like to be able to bring my music with my anywhere I go.

Follow-up to last week’s question:

Do you keep all your unread books together, like books in a waiting room? Or are they scattered throughout your shelves, mingling like party-goers waiting for the host to come along?

Here’s my last week’s list of unread books.

As for my answer, no I don’t put them in one place. In fact, all my books are scattered all over the house. I want to be able to have something to read available wherever I am. This applies to new, rare and second-hand ones. However, to verify if one book is part of the “unread” gang, one just have to look closely to see that it’s almost always gathering dust.

Before you judge me, I do take good care of my books and they get dusted every week. :)

Too much fat burner will do this to you.

image image

Beyonce / Elisha Cuthbert

Kidding, of course. If you eat like a horse (or ahem, like me), a fat burner could only do so much.

These photos were photoshopped (duh!) but still, have you seen the stars from 90210? They need some serious eating to do. I’ve been known to obsess about my weight from time to time but I think I’m still way inside the healthy line of dieting. Which if you translate will mean no cakes if you eat ice cream. Okay a small slice is okay if the ice cream flavor was anything but chocolate. On the other hand, you can have chocolates as long as it’s dark, not white. Or you can eat as many plates of pasta as you like and you won’t gain weight at all. I could go on and on but I’m afraid you might try my diet.
