My husband and I are going crazy over these amazing sales! Too bad our friend can’t purchase for us anymore since there’s a limit on the number of electronics that you can buy per person.

Have the strength to fall in line at 5am? Add Walmart on Facebook to get access to their catalog now!

Dell Streak – A New Want?

Posted in gadgets, technology on October 18th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

As if lusting after iPhone4, iPad and other mini-computers is not enough, Dell Streak comes into the picture.

I must say I’m a sucker for all portable things that can let me take amazing photos, blog, surf the web, email, read books, watch videos/listen to music. It’s also a bonus if I can use it for work – designing and HTML coding with FTP transfer abilities. But I digress. Let me just highlight the latest item on my WANTED list.

Dell Streak.

Dell Streak (previously known as the Mini 5) is a smartphone/tablet hybrid from Dell that uses the Android operating system. It comes with a 5″ capacitive touchscreen and two cameras, a 5MP one with dual-LED flash on the back and a VGA-resolution one on the front for video calling; both are capable of video. The development was first disclosed in June 2009[4] and in October 2009 it was known that the tablet is capable of making 3G phone calls. [5]

And directly from dell.com’s blog:

Hardware-wise, the Dell Streak features the following:

  • A sharp 5-inch capacitive multi-touch WVGA (800×480) display for a great full-screen experience watching video or browsing the web
  • Fast 1GHz Snapdragon ARM-based mobile processor from Qualcomm
  • 5 MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash that offers easy point & shoot capability and quick uploads to YouTube, Flickr, Facebook and more
  • VGA front-facing camera enables video chat functionality down the road
  • A user-removable (and replaceable) battery
  • A 3.5mm headphone jack means many of you can use the Dell Streak as the music source (and more) in your car
  • Integrated 3G + Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + Bluetooth 2.1 (think headsets, external keyboards, stereo headsets, etc.)
  • UMTS / GPRS / EDGE class 12 GSM radio with link speeds of HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA
  • A user-accessible Micro SD slot expandable up to 32GB. That means you can store  lots of movies, music, photos or other kinds of files.

On the software side, here’s what you can expect:

  • A customized multi-touch version of the Google Android operating system that features Dell user interface enhancements
  • Access to over 38,000  apps (and growing) via the Android Marketplace
  • Microsoft Exchange connectivity and integration through TouchDown
  • Google Voice support
  • Integrated Google Maps with voice-activated search, turn-by-turn navigation, street and satellite views
  • Quick access to activity streams via integrated social network app widgets like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube

Pricing: $299.99 with new two-year AT&T contract, and $549.99 without.

Let me leave this photo for now while I’m finishing my tasks.

USB Chicken Burger

Love these unique and very bizarre products thta I found online. I wish I can come up with something as clever. But since I can’t think of anything aside from adult acne treatments in the form of a face mask, I’ll just continue posting this innovative and mostly useless products. One thing’s for sure, I would buy this first one in a heartbeat. An iPod Touch themed bedding with duvet and pillow cases. So geeky huh!

Lucky Girl

Would you believe what my dear daughter asks for Christmas? Her own iphone, what else? After seeing how much fun she can have with my apps, she now wants one. Not that it’s gonna happen anytime soon. After all, it took me two years even before I convinced myself that iPhone is worth its price. And it is. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to using other mobile phones anymore. I used to wonder what the big fuss was but now I know. The user interface is just the first of the many things that I love about my iPhone. Don’t let me start on the millions of apps that can make me life and work easy because I’ll never stop! I am an iPhone fan and will be more so if they can find a way to make flash work. :) As for my daughter, if she’s nice enough, I may be convinced to get her an iTouch instead.

Spray to Remember

image My baby’s baptism party is in a few weeks and I still don’t have giveaways to my guests. I don’t want the usual dust gatherers, i.e. figurines, frames so I’m looking at promotional items instead. I saw some really useable items from US Imprints like custom journals, bike bottles, aluminum coffee mugs and eco-friendly totes. But what I liked most are these cute non-alcoholic hand sanitizer sprays. They are costly if you buy just a few but for a minimum of 250 items, you could get them for as low as $1.06. I’ll have to check if you can have different logos per spray because my client is planning on purchasing these for a promotional tour this December. I could ask him to get me extra fifty items so I can hand it out to my guests as well.
