Beach Home

Posted in home, money, what's up on February 5th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

One of the things I’d like to have when I retire is a Florida vacation home. And I don’t want to rent it, I want to have my own property by the beach. It could have two rooms for all I care as long as it’s near enough the ocean that I can hear the sound of the waves crashing before I sleep and when I wake up each morning. And now that I’ve thought about it, it doesn’t have to be in Florida. To make this dream realistic, I’d probably settle anywhere safe (low crime rate), with white sandy beaches and affordable properties.

Keeping The Pounds Away

Posted in health, home on January 11th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

And speaking of keeping your bodies in shape, let’s talk about fat burner. Some fat burners not only serve as weight loss supplement but an overall health supplement. Although slower than other popular brands, this type of fat burner is much safer because of the stimulant it contains. For faster results such as Fenphedra, you may lose a lot in a short amount of time but your body might not be able to handle the stimulants that comes with the drug. I’ve seen a few people lose weight for two or three weeks and have all the pounds back after a week or so. Choosing a fat burner depends on your goal – do you want to wear that bridesmaid’s dress in a month or want to keep the pounds away by losing them slowly and exercising regularly. At the end of the day, if you want to stay strong and healthy, nothing really beats the old, good exercise and healthy diet.

High Cholesterol Levels

Do you know that one out of five adults suffer from high cholesterol. What’s even more disturbing is the number of young people being diagnosed of hypertensive, diabetes and heart diseas because of high cholesterol levels in their bodies. This is why I’m reading about cholesterol supplements for me and my husband. We’ve always been living on a high fat diet and no time to exercise regularly. Now that we’re trying to live a healthy lifestyle, why not go all and get a supplement as well. I know I need to research more thoroughly about this. I’m very serious in keeping our cholesterols in check and our bodies in top shape.

Health Online

I never knew I’d search online for arthritis relief but here I am in front of the computer with five browsers open researching exactly that. Still, I’m glad it’s not for me but for my aunt who couldn’t sleep at night anymore due to joint pains. I told her to go see a doctor but she said she wants me to find some information for her first so she’d know what to ask. She has a point because I’ll do the same thing before seeing a physician. It doesn’t hurt to be informed and understand exactly what your diagnosis is all about.

More Payables

I always say that December is our most expensive month of the year. Aside from buying gifts and holiday trips, there’s the annual credit card renewals and yearly payment of all our insurances. We are already paying up to 5 insurance packages as of this year and might add another one now that baby #2 is on its way. I’m checking out the free insurance quotes online just to have an idea of how expensive it is to get a new policy now compared to five years ago. Luckily, we’re just about done paying my first child’s educational plan so we can now afford to get a new one for our next baby.

Transform Your Home Easily With These Arched Doorways

My do-it-yourself brother-in-law would definitely love this really cool home improvement product from Creative Corners. He’d like it so much that I’m thinking of getting him a whole package as a Christmas gift. It’s a Do It Yourself arched doorway that you can install on any part of the house. With pre-formed corner inserts at $54.95 per opening, you can transform your square interior doorways into stylish arched corners without all the stress that comes with building drywall arches. You can even choose from four architectural styles – partial, full, eyebrow and step to assure that it will complement the interior design of your home.

Sauna At Home

Posted in home, what's up on November 10th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

I envy people who can afford to have a sauna in their homes. My friend in Australia for example is planning to have one installed in their mini-gym. Granted she’s filthy rich but that doesn’t mean I have to go to the local gym and share with four more people before I can relax and have my pores cleaned.

Anyway, I checked the Crystal Sauna website and just like what I thought, it’s pretty pricey but not as expensive as I expected it to be. They sell all kinds of saunas from portables to luxuries, family, outdoors to infrared saunas. The 2-person infrared sauna will cost about $2,995.00 from Crystal Sauna only. It has a wall-to-wall heating system, 10 carbon fiber heaters with a total of 4,170 square inches heating surface area, ergonomic backrests (I’ve always hated those sauna rooms without proper seats), thick tempered glass door and windows and 24″ deep bench.

Shopping for Babies Again

Posted in home, websites on November 10th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Now that we’re having our 2nd child, you should expect more posts about baby products here. I am after all, a shopaholic addict when it comes to baby items. For one, who would berate you for shopping too much if you’re doing it for your child, right? Well, that’s my reason, at least.

On our first baby, we realized how important it is to have an infant travel bed. We go out of town and visit relatives all the time so this is a must for us. My current pick is the Eddie Bauer infant travel bed because its just so lightweight and perfect for napping wherever you are. I found this from Baby Safe Travel web site and been very impressed so far.

Anniversary Invitation

Anniversary Invitation

I’ve never received any Wedding Anniversary Invitations my whole life. Either I was too young to attend someone celebrating their gold wedding in the family or people don’t just go handing out 50th wedding anniversary invitations anymore. But I believe a wedding anniversary party is as important as your wedding day and should be given the same detail and attention.

The CardsShoppe thinks the same way too which is why they offer very unique wedding anniversary invitation designs that will remind you and your loved ones how you managed to stay strong read more »

A Better Bathroom

Posted in home on October 15th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

After a long day at work (or at the mall if you’re lucky), we long to come home to a nice, long bath. Women have this need to soak their weary bodies in warm and soapy water for at least two hours. This is why most houses invest on state-of-the-art bathrooms because this room is definitely not just for bathing. It should be as comfortable as your bedroom and may I say, as clean.

For people like me though who don’t have that much budget, we can always shop at BetterBathrooms.com. If you’ll look at their site now, you’ll see a huge banner saying STOCK CLEARANCE for Bathroom Suites, with up to 55% off. Aside from suites/packaged bathrooms, they sell these separately – tiles, taps, baths, whirlpool, shower systems, radiators and other kinds of bathroom accessories. And if you really want to go all out, check out their Jacuzzi collection. Their clearance sale is site wide so it applies to Jacuzzis as well.

A quick browse showed me these nice bathroom sets.

Unseen Protection

image These days, using a Hidden Camera inside the house is not as unusual as five years ago when people are worried about violating privacy. I’m saying this for parents who work outside the house and has no choice but leave their kids to their caretakers. And if you’ve seen the videos circulating the web of abusive nannies, you’d feel the same way too.

Hidden or spy cameras can be bought everywhere. I saw several undetectable cameras at the Brick House Security online shop ranging from $99 to $599. Most of them are used as a normal appliance in the house like digital clock, tissue box, floodlight, smoke detector, mailbox and key chain. Features also range from something as simple as video surveillance to video recorder, body heat detectors to motion detectors, wireless to night vision and even mobile ones that you can take anywhere.

I’ll Never Get Tired of Reading

Posted in art, entertainment, home, online life on October 8th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

about …

Travels – where to go, how much the packages are, where to eat

Losing weight – the right diet, diet pills, exercise program, hip-hop routines, pilates, yoga.

Movies – top 10, 50, 100; great movie dialogues, from books to big screen

Hollywood gossip – just can’t get enough of this. It has been my guilty pleasure for so long.

Food / restaurant reviews – not just the hottest place but also the most hidden and not-so-popular ones. I also like those restaurants that can accommodate a few people at the same time. Then there’s also food festivals and wine/alcohol events.

Design / art – I want to surround myself with all types of art. I’m not one of those artsy-fartsy types. I just want to be consistently amazed by art whether it’s good or bad.

Saw an episode on mobile and manufactured home on TV last night. Can’t help but be amazed and then wondered if it’s something that we can do for our future home. The cost wasn’t mentioned but even my husband was intrigued.

I’m more than relieved that the storm decided to change direction. God knows the victims of Ondoy have enough to worry about. The power of prayers never ceases to amaze me.

Our house has been turned upside down. My brother-in-law and his family had to stay with us while they have their house cleaned. Again, because of typhoon Ondoy. I’m not complaining. We are very lucky that our house was spared and my daughter was in heaven because she now has a playmate 20/7. Too bad they had to leave today which left my little girl bored and restless.
