Home Shopping

Posted in home, technology on April 11th, 2011 by admin – Be the first to comment

I’ve been seeing a lot of mobile and manufactured homes on TV and they still never cease to amaze me. Imagine having a complete home constructed in a factory and delivered to your location? Don’t believe me? Check out the photo below:

Now I’m dreaming of our future “dream” house again. I don’t care if it’s a modular home such as this. All I want is to finally have our own place so I can start shopping for furniture!

Money Woes

If there’s one thing that I don’t like about the properties that we’ve been checking out lately, it will be the additional cost of having expensive water pumps installed. Most of the subdivisions are in a quiet and safe neighborhood but either they don’t have water connection yet or they do have but it’s not that strong that you will need to get water pumps. Even if that’s the case, we are still barely meeting the tag price of some of them. It’s one of those days when I wish I have more money that I could ever want so I can choose any property that I fancy without even worrying if we can afford it.

Taking a Break

Browsing through Outer Banks rentals is making me want to go on a beach getaway, stat. I’ve been cooped up inside the house for so long plus summer is officially here. I can determine the actual moment. It was when my laptop started feeling so hot against my hands and then died for no reason. I hope I can grab a few side projects this month so me and the family can have a quick out of town trip. God knows, the husband and I deserve it after working so hard! It’s fortunate that groupon websites have started to become so popular you don’t have to search high and low for a discounted vacation.

Money, Expenses, Goals

Posted in home, money, what's up, work on March 8th, 2011 by admin – Be the first to comment

Every time I win a project bid, I can’t help but envision our future dream house. Not only that, I see the exterior design, number of bedrooms even stuff like best laminate flooring, high-end bath fixtures and kitchen appliances parade in my mind. I feel like I’m getting close to my goal the more side projects I get. The earnings from them usually gets transferred directly to my untouchable savings account, if I don’t get sidetracked with other big-ticket purchases. This year, however, most of my side project earnings will go to my new machine (yeah!) and to the first birthday party budget for my youngest. I am about done meeting my quota for that so whatever projects that will come after will be put into our future home budget again. I am not rushing this time. I know God will provide when it’s the right moment.

The Summer Heat

Summer is just around the corner so I’m stocking up on cool outfits. If it was anything like last year, I’m sure our air-conditioning bill will be sky rocket high. I already took advantage of the womens sandals sale last year so all I need to get are some walking shorts and tank tops. Luckily, I am now back to my pre-pregnancy weight so no need to hide those extra bulges that come with having a baby.

Speaking of summer, we haven’t made any travel plans yet. We can’t hop on a plane until the baby turns one (this June) so we’re limited to 3-4 hour road trips. Wherever I may be, I have no doubt that it will be equally fun and exhausting now that there are two kids to look after.

Let It Snow

Climate change is scary. One minute you live in a city where snow is unheard of and the next, you’re looking for snow blowers to clean the driveway. A friend of mine got excited seeing snow for the first time. Imagine the fun of building a snowman with the kids or doing angel wings on their front yard. However, after getting four feet of snow for weeks, she’s ready to call it quits. She sent me some photos and all I can say was how beautiful and magical their street have become. But she couldn’t see the beauty of it anymore especially when they still need to go to work.

Work Distraction

Started my day shopping for Velo binding machine. My brother’s need some replacing and asked for my help to get some quotes online. While researching for that, I also saw some great deals on color printer. I think it’s time for me to invest on a higher end since most of my clients are venturing into print projects. I’m tired of sending graphics back and forth just because I couldn’t check the colors myself.

Aside from that and this is totally off-topic, I just found the nicest pair of brogues. Thanks to an online friend who showed me Madewell’s Spring 2011 Lookbook.
