Celebrity Moms – Back in Shape in Weeks

Posted in entertainment, health, websites on January 15th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

And now that I mentioned the new celebrity moms, let me just post a few photos of them three of four months after giving birth. You’d probably want to read on new diet pills that you don’t know about but this post is not about that. It’s to inspire you to lose that weight through regular exercise and healthy diet. And if you don’t know this yet, breastfeeding can make you lose weight so fast you’d be back in your old body in six to eight months.

Heidi Klum (5 weeks)

Trista Sutter (5 months)

And I know 5 weeks is too much for mere mortals like us so let me share this snippet from eatsmartgetsmart.com

When a celebrity gives birth (often by a scheduled, voluntary c-section) many immediately receive a tummy tuck. Once they are home, they bring in their (already assembled and waiting in the wings) team of professionals whose sole duty is to get the celeb back into red carpet shape. Often a publicity deal is already in the works with a magazine selected to cover her miraculous return to the spot light.

This team is made up a personal trainer, a masseuse, yoga instructor, Pilates instructor, nutritionist and personal chef. More often than not, little pills are often taken. (Remember the Rolling Stones song, “Mother’s Little Helper”?) They devote their entire day to this. Every other annoyance is taken care for them. Changing diapers? Please!

On Bad Skin

I read from differin reviews online that the cons of this treatment consists of burning, stinging, dry skin, itching, peeling and redness. And the fact that it doesn’t work for everybody makes me even more hesitant to try it if ever I get bad acne. Good thing there are reviews online such as this because it makes it easy for consumers to decide which treatment will be right for them. Armed with the right knowledge, non-biased reviews and more extensive research, finding the right cure for your stubborn acne can be within reach. In fact, this doesn’t apply to skin problems alone but on purchasing drugs, diet plans and treatments in general. Being extra cautious can save you a lot of heartaches and money if you think about it.

Health Online

I never knew I’d search online for arthritis relief but here I am in front of the computer with five browsers open researching exactly that. Still, I’m glad it’s not for me but for my aunt who couldn’t sleep at night anymore due to joint pains. I told her to go see a doctor but she said she wants me to find some information for her first so she’d know what to ask. She has a point because I’ll do the same thing before seeing a physician. It doesn’t hurt to be informed and understand exactly what your diagnosis is all about.

Active Child

I was browsing this site on adhd symptoms and learned the following:

It can affect children all day and everyday, whether they are in school, playground or at home.

Children with ADHD has a hard time focusing, sitting still and completing tasks. They also find it hard to control their impulses even if they know how to behave.

Most common signs and symptoms to check if your child has ADHD:

- They are easily distracted and find it hard to follow instructions

- They have trouble following directions

- They make careless mistakes

- Forgetful, trouble waiting in turn, interrupts others

- Cannot stay seated for long

Before our generation, we just term this is as being overly active or the effects of too much sugar. But now, there’s a name for it and even a medication to cure the said condition.

Power of the Mind

imageWow, toys are getting more expensive each year. Just check out Mindflex – a game that utilizes the power of your mind.

This latest mental activity from Mattel uses a lightweight headset with sensors for the forehead and earlobes that are supposed to measure your brainwave activity. As you focus, a small foam ball will rise and as you relax, the ball will go down slowly. Of course, I’m only basing it from the description and haven’t really tried it myself. But this will surely blow my brother’s mind as he’s been trying to convince me that he can move things ever since we were kids.

Trying Out Windows 7

Posted in computers, websites on November 26th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

I came across today some Windows 7 coupons from the Coupon Trunk website. I’m a frequent visitor of Coupon Trunk ever since I found out that you can save big bucks with online coupons whether it’s something as small as free shipping or a 40% off deal on big ticket items.

Anyway, I’m not a fan of upgrading Windows XP especially when upon installing my first Windows Vista, I realized that most of my graphics software don’t work. Windows 7 on the other hand has been receiving great reviews all throughout its beta and RC stages so I’m willing to give it a try.

I’m especially looking forward to the Snap feature because in my line of work, I always need to see two windows side by side. It’s useful when comparing designs, HTML codes and what-not.

image
With the Pin feature, you can keep programs and files handy by pinning them to the taskbar.

After watching the demos all day, I just can’t wait to get my hands on this OS. The Microsoft discounts at Coupon trunk are just perfect. I’m just not sure whether to buy Professional or Ultimate right this moment. Perhaps I can just buy the Anytime Upgrade if I’m not happy with Pro. Even with the coupon code, the difference between Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate is still too big (around $100) so I think I’ll wait and try Pro first.

No Standing In Line

I really like the web site design of Ski Butlers. I’m in the process of conceptualizing for an advertisement for a ski resort when I came across their site. Ski Butlers specializes in hassle-free deer valley ski rentals. What they do is go to your house and bring any sizes of skis and snowboards that might fit you. Their ski rental expert technicians will custom fit all that you need including boots and other ski accessories to ensure that you’re ready for your ski trip. Because of this very innovative service, you’d think they will cost more. But you’d be surprised to know that their rental rates are the same and sometimes even lower than some of the local Deer Valley ski rental shops.

Shopping for Babies Again

Posted in home, websites on November 10th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Now that we’re having our 2nd child, you should expect more posts about baby products here. I am after all, a shopaholic addict when it comes to baby items. For one, who would berate you for shopping too much if you’re doing it for your child, right? Well, that’s my reason, at least.

On our first baby, we realized how important it is to have an infant travel bed. We go out of town and visit relatives all the time so this is a must for us. My current pick is the Eddie Bauer infant travel bed because its just so lightweight and perfect for napping wherever you are. I found this from Baby Safe Travel web site and been very impressed so far.

I love Math. So much that I used to tutor my brother when he needs some Algebra help. That experience showed me how hard to teach someone if you don’t have the right teaching skills. If you’re a student who is struggling with Math problems, I recommend this site called Tutorvista.com. Tutor Vista offers all kinds of tutoring packages that you can do from the comforts of your home. Connect with a tutor using your computer and you can get personalized one-on-one tutoring at a fraction of what learning centres usually cost.

Learn the answers to all your Algebra word problems in a fun and interactive way. If you will look at the photo below, you’ll see the virtual whiteboard workspace that you and your tutor can draw and write to as your tutoring session progresses.

Switching to Gold and Silver

Precious metals like gold have been around thousands of years ago. However, plenty of people are still unaware how powerful this kind of investment can be. For one, it can protect you against the declining U.S. dollars. Gold is being traded all throughout the world and not dependent on the rise and fall of dollars.

A More Rewarding Investment

Posted in money, websites on October 1st, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

According to several money and finance blogs that I’ve been reading, the most popular way to preserve wealth is through gold. When economy is unstable, so are your stocks, bonds and real estate investments. It has also been proven that gold has outperformed virtually all other investment instruments out there as it not only gives above average returns but also the security that comes with it. Gold can either be conservative or aggresive as it tends to move in the opposite direction of paper investments. read more »
