Creativity in 18 inch Doll Dress

Posted in what's up on August 26th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

I’ve never been one to play with dolls but that was back then when the options are limited to Barbie dolls and their expensive separate outfits. Because of the cost and the limited selection, I used to make clothes for my dolls but even that got boring and hard, at most times. If only I had access to 18 inch doll dress such as these (see below), I’m pretty sure I’ll be addicted to them just like my daughter and soon, I know, her baby sister too.

Isn’t this the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen – a ‘Wildcats’ cheerleader uniform? I’m lovin’ their hair and I’m an adult so it’s no surprise that kids go crazy dressing up these lovely dolls.

Typhoon Country

Posted in what's up on August 3rd, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Speaking of unexpected purchases, I saw a memory foam mattress sale online and it’s all I can do not to get my credit card and buy one. The terms are so affordable and we know there’s no way I can afford it at a normal price. However, we really need to save for the rainy days and I mean that in the most literal way. Turned out we’re not only having four typhoons but a total of nineteen in the next four months. Multiply that to two or three night’s hotel stay and you’re looking at a huge dent on our savings.

I’m still hoping that the typhoons won’t be as bad as Ondoy. After all, not having power and water supply is nothing compared to lives lost.

Prioritize

I was supposed to buy a new ceiling fan but I learned that we’re expecting four typhoons in the next few weeks or so. Whenever there’s a typhoon, a blackout almost always follows. And if we’re really unlucky, water supply goes away as well. So instead of purchasing the ceiling fan that I’m eyeing on at the mall, we decided to invest on three rechargeable fans/radios instead. With the baby in the house to think about, we just can’t leave it to chance anymore. I just hope that when the power goes out, we’ll still have enough water supply. If not, we really have to book in an affordable hotel just like last year during a huge storm. This will be way too costly if we’re talking about more than four typhoons this year.

How Older Men Can Feel Younger

Posted in what's up on July 29th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

For many men, getting older can carry with it some unwanted side effects. By adjusting just a few small parts of their lives, men can feel and look younger even as they enter their silver and golden years.

Most older men wish they had the metabolism they did in high school, but as both men and women age, their metabolisms slow down, making diet a very important part of staying trim and feeling younger. Most men who never adjust their diets from their 20s or 30s have a significantly higher risk of obesity than those who stay on top of their weight. By adding fruits and vegetables and cutting the fast food down as much as possible, older men can look and feel younger than they are.

Swamped Like I’ve Never Been Before

Posted in what's up, work on July 26th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

More work means more money. Which is why I shouldn’t be complaining now that my workload is up to HERE. Yet my husband’s words kept coming back to me now that I lack of sleep and rest for the past two weeks. Extra money won’t do me any good if I’ll just spend it paying hospital bills. I know I’m close to getting sick now, what with taking care of the baby and working at the same time. So I’m making a compromise to myself and promised that I will just finish all the urgent stuff this week. There’s the design for the personalized soccer balls for my client, a new author blog that should be live by Thursday next week and the kids’ camp brochure that needs to be printed before Saturday. Those three are the most important tasks right now while the others can totally wait.

Talk about throwing money

I heard from the radio about this guy who was lucky enough to find a very expensive timepiece in Central Park. It wasn’t anything like Chopard or Patek Philippe but still pricey enough that you can afford one or two months rent in Manhattan. I didn’t catch whether he left it at the park’s Lost and Found or kept it for himself. All I know is that if it was me, I wouldn’t be so careless in wearing a pricey item. I’d probably go crazy if I lose something as expensive as that (if I can even afford to buy one) so I might as well not indulge on luxury items unless I’m rich enough that $20,000+ is no big deal to me.

Dress Up Party

Posted in what's up on July 20th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

My friends are planning another kick-ass party to celebrate one of our dear friend’s birthday. Just like every serious adult party that they organize, costumes and tons of booze are involved. Last year it was all about goth / emo but this year, they are thinking of moulin rouge or something similar. I could already see my lovely friends wearing tight corsets, fishnets and heavy eye make-up while the men will look smashing with their tuxedos or loose shirts and tight pants if they decide to go bohemian. I’m sure it’s going to be another fun night filled with photo shoot, games, good food and laughter.

Website To-Do’s

I finally gave birth! Which is why I’m taking it easy online and just working on urgent stuff at work. I’m still on maternity leave but since most of them are quick fixes and I’m doing nothing while the baby’s asleep, I’ve decided to do them rather than spend more time sending instructions. I got distracted reading alli reviews though so I may have to cut the list short for today. I promised my husband I won’t be working on anything major at least until the baby is a month old. I’d still blog of course. It’s my second favorite stress reliever next to watching movies.

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev had a meeting with United States President Barack Obama on April 11th 2010. The two leaders tackled concerns related to the Kazakh-American tactical partnership.

The leaders shared their concepts on global security – counting the stabilization and protection of Afghanistan – economic relationships and investment opportunities, democratic development, energy alliance, as well as Kazakhstan’s Chairmanship of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe). read more »

Excited

The baby is almost here! I think. I’ve been feeling stomach pains for days and know that time is near. This is why my husband and I are going crazy fixing our room, looking into more home ventilation options and buying last minute baby stuff. I hope she comes out just in time for my birthday not only because it would be a great gift but also because she has gotten so huge (already at 7lbs during last check up) that I’m worried if I’ll be able to give birth normally. Before that however, I need to make sure that all my deliverables, usernames/passwords have been turned over to the designers who will take over while I’m gone.

Throw an Engagement Party to Remember

They’ve become engaged! Whether it was a romantic proposal over wine and candlelight or a picnic in the mountains, the happy couple has decided to tie the knot. She’s received a ring designed by Scott Kay or another favored jeweler, and she’s showing it off to all her friends. He’s proud and happy and slapping his friends on the back.

What better way to celebrate your friends’ engagement that throwing them an unforgettable engagement party. With a few simple tips you can make sure the party is a success.
First, ask the couple. Make sure that another family member or friend has not already started planning a party. And keep the couple’s wishes in mind during the planning process. You’d don’t want to throw a formal dinner or cocktail party if they would prefer something more casual.

Unusual Gifts for Dads

Posted in home, what's up on June 7th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Just for fun, I’m thinking of giving my husband some pink ties for Father’s day. I know how he hates wearing pink and doesn’t subscribe to the idea that men who wear pink are secure in their masculinity. But do you know that pink is considered the most masculine of shares? It is also known to have calming effect and goes perfect with all kinds of colors from a man’s wardrobe such as grey, tan, black, blue.

Anyway, I wouldn’t ruin his day by giving him something that he doesn’t like. We don’t really give expensive gifts during Father’s and Mother’s day but we’ll just probably go have a nice dinner and buy him something at the mall for $30. At least, he can choose for himself and I’ll be assured that he will use it.

With that said, here are some really cool gadgets that you can give to your husband or dads for less than $40 from findgift.com.

Thursday Thunks: Turn the TV Off and Turn on the Radio

imageAre you a Facebooker? Are you addicted to those stupid games that suck a person in at the drop of a hat? Would you care to share your Facebook identification link so that we may all stalk you be your friend?
Yes but I never got addicted to it. I try not to check out the games because I have a tendency to be too competitive I’d probably won’t turn the computer until I’ve beaten everyone.

What kinds of cereal do you have in your home right at this very moment?
The good and fattening kind. Luckily, no one believes in those fad diets that work type of cereal in our house.

What is the strangest thing you have said to:
* get a job?
I could do anything that you want
* get a date?
No need to do anything because I rock! Seriously, you don’t need tricks when you’re a girl read more »

Big Competition

Posted in what's up on May 24th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

My friend is so conscious about his body that whenever he sees a “want to build muscle – click here” type of advertisement, he’ll definitely click it in a seconds. He grew up tall and lanky and no matter how much he eats, his body refuses to gain weight. I wish we have the same problem! In fact, most women I know are envious of his fast metabolism. Anyway, I think he looks good in a rock star, mysterious way with his tight-fitting clothes and deep set eyes. He doesn’t believe me though and would rather follow the advice of his other gay friends whose muscles can rival Piolo Pascual or Derek Ramsey’s. He said it’s a tough world already for a single man let alone a single gay man surrounded with buffed, polished and cultured competitors.

Things I’d Rather Not Do Today

Bid on web design projects. I just have so many backlogs I can’t afford to take a break during weekends. It’s a good thing I know but I want to double my monthly quota so I’m really torn. I don’t want to miss any good projects out there.

Research / compile articles about pulse oximeters. Again,I simply have no time to do this for my brother-in-law so he’ll just have to do this himself.

Hit the treadmill. I’m so huge now that I’m on my last trimester so this is something that I must do. Yet my body and mind will not cooperate, not when work is calling.

Talk to our real estate agent. Not in the mood to discuss properties and payables at this time of the day.

Stay in front of the computer for 8 hours. I really wish I could start my vacation early. The reason I’m blogging now is just to distract myself and hopefully get some inspiration so I can start designing.
