Yo-Yo Games

Posted in what's up on January 8th, 2012 by admin – Be the first to comment

I went to an online yo yo store this morning looking for giveaways for my niece’s birthday party. After browsing through the products, I felt a bit nostalgic as I remembered my childhood days. How simple life was back then! No iPod Touch, PSP or iPad for the kids. We bond with each other and play actual games, not online games wherein interacting with the players are only done through gadgets. This is the reason why we’re giving away yo-yos. To bring back the fun in old school toys. Hope we can find a good deal so we can start shipping them here.

Movie Characters

We are having a costume party for Christmas and the theme is Hollywood films. I’m trying to decide based on which will be the cheapest for me to do. After seeing how much it will cost me to get a pair of equestrian boots for Nicole Kidman’s role in Australia, I’d probably go for something which will cost less. Maybe the white swan from Black Swan (because my 1.5 year old daughter was scared of the black version), White Queen from Alice in Wonderland or the befallen Sayuri from Memoirs of a Geisha. All of them require white complicated make up so that’s something I need to practice.

Wish me luck! I still have no idea on who my kids will be but the husband already have something in mind for himself.

Job Hunting

Our housekeeper found a flyer about Message Therapist Jobs and wondered if I can help her get more information. She said her niece might be able to benefit from the job listings and hopefully be able to help their family from the province. I instantly agreed which is why I am looking for similar jobs online when I’m supposed to be working. I just feel the need to help them knowing they are trying to feed 6 mouths under the age of seven. If there’s one thing I wish for Christmas, I really want to have more money so I can help the kids have a good education or at least find work opportunities for the ones who can already work.

The Gossip in Me

This is how much of a gossip monger I am. When I see posts about celebrities whether it’s for celebrity wedding trends, celebrity mommas who just gave birth, Hollywood couples splitting up, I read them all no matter how busy I am. And then I blog about it. That way, other gossips can read about them if they haven’t already.

This is why you’ll often see perezhilton.com, eOnline, The Hollywood Gossip on my browsing history and bookmarks. Aside from work and online shopping, this is what keeps me busy. That is – if the kids and husband don’t need me. Sometimes I pretend I’m working on my iphone but the truth is I’m just reading gossips.

Yeah. I need a diversion. Who doesn’t? Thank God mine isn’t expensive and my husband should be happy. Oh wait, I did mention online shopping right?

Morning Shopping

Trying to decide between yellow box shoes or Charles & Keith pumps is my biggest concern this morning. Not work, not breakfast, not even my kids who are sleeping soundly in the other room. I am shallow that way but we all deserve to be like that from time to time. After all, mothers are supposed to be superheroes who can do anything and everything they want to. So why not add a flaw here and there? But I digress. It’s just that I need something to wear for the wedding that I’m attending next week. All my shoes are either too outdated in style or the colors are just not perfect for the dress that I have in mind and haven’t bought yet. That’s how busy mothers are, you know. But enough with this nonsense, personal post. I need to get back to designing or else I wouldn’t have any cash to spend at all for my new clothes and shoes.

The Ring

I have an important task today and that is to review the engagement rings that my soon-to-be engaged friend (he hopes) wants to buy. I told him to ask his girlfriend’s friends, not me because they probably know what she likes. Aside from that, I’m not exactly the best person to ask when it comes to jewelry but since it has to be a surprise, I have no choice but to help him out. I don’t like it and she may hate it but a friend’s gotta do what she has to.

Having said that, I’d like to share with you one postcard from PostSecret that is related to this.

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail

Ready for iPhone5?

Posted in computers, gadgets, technology, what's up on July 14th, 2011 by admin – Be the first to comment

Okay, so I’m still using iPhone 3GS. But who cares, right? Knowing that as soon as I purchase an iPhone4, that iPhone5 will just be around the corner. Apple really makes us do silly things such as spending huge amounts of money every year. But they can get away with it since everyone is just addicted to all things Apple.

According to rumors, the iPhone5 is set to be released this September 2011.

What is the reason behind releasing iPhone 5 in September?

Apple recently announced iOS 5 at WWDC 2011 which is packed with new cool features, including Android’s drop-down menu style notification.  iOS 5 will be released in the autumn, more specifically in  September. Furthermore, Apple brings new generation iPods and iPod Touches in September. However, according to CNET UK, iPods are not enough glamorous to bring iOS 5 into the world. iOS 5 and iPhone 5 both will be the perfect platforms for each other.

But what does iPhone5 have to offer that iPhone4 could not?

See the list of rumored features below from iphonestuffs4u.com

  • Storage Capacity: Apple is offering 16 GB and 32GB iPhone since 2009, so apple is aware this it would be hard push iPhone 5 without having 64 GB of storage. iPhone 5’s lowest model will come with 32G of space and 64G of memory.
  • Signal Strength: Unlike iPhone 4, iPhone 5 is not having signal issue, as they are offering the strongest signal strength of any iPhone model ever even the best of any Smartphone to ever come to market.
  • Face Recognition: The new iPhone 5 will have Face Recognition for Security sake so that you don’t have to worry about other people stealing your phone and trying to use it.
  • Thickness: All three iPhone had thinner bodies than the previous model so the iPhone 5 can be the thinnest yet & much nicer overall body design of the phone.
  • Longer Battery Life: iPhone 5 will have Up to 14 Hours of Talk Time On The 3G and 7 Hours on the 4G.
  • Video Chat: Video Chat on a 4G network instead of a slow 3G one
  • A5 Dual core processor: For Outstanding Video Quality Apple May Introduce A5 Dual Core Process with iPhone 5
  • Screen: Shatter Resistant and Scratch Resistant Screen
  • Built In GPS: You’ll never get lost or have to download one of those stupid GPS apps.
  • iOS 5: It is much anticipated that Apple will introduce iPhone 5 with latest iOS 5.
  • Surprise: As the tradition of apple iPhone 5 will also unveil some surprise features.

New Bands

Posted in fashion, what's up on June 15th, 2011 by admin – Be the first to comment

My husband is not crazy about our wedding bands anymore. He said he finds the stones too girly and would prefer something similar to triton wedding bands. I told him we could have the jeweler remove the stones instead and just use it for our daughter’s earrings. I hope the cost will not be as high as getting a brand new one though. If that’s the case, it’s better if we just have a new one designed. And since we’re visiting the jeweler, I’m hoping I could get a nice quote on a pair of earrings that I’ve been eyeing for months.
