Need for Speed Jackets

Posted in what's up on March 5th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Here’s something my brother would love – Nascar jackets. For the longest time, he has been asking me to shop for him online. At first he wanted the one that Wolverine wore but seeing how expensive it was, he decided to go for race car jackets instead. To be honest, these jackets seem loud to me if you’re not going to wear it on a race track. So I recommended this to him. Jeff Gordon / Du Pont Adult Twill jacket under $98 each.

Pretty cool huh? Black on black so you won’t catch too much attention when you’re on the road.

Themes

We need to attend a party next week and I’m thinking of dressing my husband and daughter with white overalls, similar to protective clothing in warehouses. The theme is airplane/airlines so guests need to come as flight attendants, pilots of airline crews. I hope I can find a small version for my daughter though. I don’t want her to go as a stewardess that’s for sure! All these themed parties is making me want to plan for her 7th birthday already. But it would be overdoing it as I still have three yrs before I can go into full planning mode.

Clear Skin

Posted in what's up on February 10th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

One thing I like about being pregnant is my clear skin. It seems all my wrinkles have disappeared and all that’s left is my face, 5 or 7 years ago. I’m not kidding! My anti wrinkle face creams are now placed behind other face creams and perfumes because I don’t see a need for them. Well, aside from the fact that I don’t want to put foreign stuff on my skin while I’m carrying a baby. I hope this beautiful skin lasts even after I give birth!

Say No to Dieting

Posted in health, home, what's up on February 9th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Reading fat burner reviews used to be my past time when I noticed that I was gaining weight no matter how much I diet. It turned out I was pregnant and to my utmost happiness, learned that I don’t have to diet at all! On my first trimester, I are all kinds of food that I woudln’t normally eat because I’m afraid to gain weight. But since it was the only way I could cure my morning / whole day sickness, I indulged myself. And boy was it heaven whenever I eat something so good (or should I say bad) and so rich, regardless if it’s a crispy bacon or moist chocolate cake. Now that I’m on my 2nd trimester, I watch what I eat again but not as paranoid as I used to be. I know my baby deserves to have all the nutrients she needs so even though I eat a lot, I make sure they are healthy for the both of us.

Beach Home

Posted in home, money, what's up on February 5th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

One of the things I’d like to have when I retire is a Florida vacation home. And I don’t want to rent it, I want to have my own property by the beach. It could have two rooms for all I care as long as it’s near enough the ocean that I can hear the sound of the waves crashing before I sleep and when I wake up each morning. And now that I’ve thought about it, it doesn’t have to be in Florida. To make this dream realistic, I’d probably settle anywhere safe (low crime rate), with white sandy beaches and affordable properties.

Public Parking

Posted in what's up on January 19th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

My friend needs to get a cheap auto insurance ASAP. I found out that he moved to a new flat and that his neighborhood isn’t that secured. Every other day, a side mirror gets lost or a hubcap gets stolen. It doesn’t help that he doesn’t have a garage and his only option is to park in the public parking area. I told him to pay for one of those overnight parking near his place but when he did the math, it turned out to be really expensive. Yes, expensive than getting auto insurance! Anyway, the best thing he can do really is move again to a much better neighborhood. You may be paying more but at least you know your most prized possessions are not at risk of getting destroyed or stolen.

Time for a Change

Finding jobs in south jersey turned out to be easy, according to my friend who wanted a change. At first, she was hesitant to move but she really fell in love with the house that her auntie gave her so the house was the deciding factor. And since she’s very good at what she does as a brand manager, she immediately snagged a job. I’m happy for her. She deserves the house and the new job after the hardships she went through two years ago with her ex-husband.

Swamped

Just finished a design job for an identity theft protection review site and I’m trying taking it easy now. There are so many projects lined up next week so I need all the rest I can get. Weekends are supposed to be spent with my family yet here I am at 8PM, just getting ready to shut down my computer. Lucky for me, my husband is out on a basketball game and my daughter is busy playing with her cousin who’s having a sleep over. Instead of “ME” time, I spent three hours working just to be able to lessen my to-do list for next week. It’s all good though. We’re going out of the country at the end of this month to see Disneyland and will definitely get the much needed vacation that I deserve.

Active Child

I was browsing this site on adhd symptoms and learned the following:

It can affect children all day and everyday, whether they are in school, playground or at home.

Children with ADHD has a hard time focusing, sitting still and completing tasks. They also find it hard to control their impulses even if they know how to behave.

Most common signs and symptoms to check if your child has ADHD:

- They are easily distracted and find it hard to follow instructions

- They have trouble following directions

- They make careless mistakes

- Forgetful, trouble waiting in turn, interrupts others

- Cannot stay seated for long

Before our generation, we just term this is as being overly active or the effects of too much sugar. But now, there’s a name for it and even a medication to cure the said condition.

Saturday 9: Don’t Talk to Strangers

1. Tell us about a night that you spent with someone who was a stranger, yet by the end of the night you were very close.

Skydiving. This goes on top of my bucket list.

5. What would you most like to accomplish before the year is over?

6. Name something you’ll miss about 2009.
My pre-pregnancy body and carefree life. By the time I give birth next year, our house and life will be upside down again.

7. If you could invent something, what would it be?
A machine that can determine the future.

To blog about my first born.

On Retiring

Posted in what's up on December 6th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

imageI’ve never been to destin fl but I sure would like to settle in a place like that when I get old. I can’t think of a better view to wake up to every morning than a long stretch of white sand with surrounded by blue calm waters. Just last night, I was watching this show from Travel and Living and they featured a retirement home surrounded by the beach. I wouldn’t mind having to live there if I can be near the water but my main goal is that I’d be rich enough to purchase my own beach property by the time I’m 55-60 years old.

Things I Don’t Have To Do

…until seven more months.

Diet plans, weight loss pills and strict exercise regimen.

Skinny jeans, stilettos and very tight tops that won’t let you breathe.

Waking up early or leaving the house if I don’t feel like it.

Doing all projects that fall on my lap. I now outsource them so I can take it easy.

Play nice with clients from hell.

Taking care of everyone. Now they take care of me :D

Sauna At Home

Posted in home, what's up on November 10th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

I envy people who can afford to have a sauna in their homes. My friend in Australia for example is planning to have one installed in their mini-gym. Granted she’s filthy rich but that doesn’t mean I have to go to the local gym and share with four more people before I can relax and have my pores cleaned.

Anyway, I checked the Crystal Sauna website and just like what I thought, it’s pretty pricey but not as expensive as I expected it to be. They sell all kinds of saunas from portables to luxuries, family, outdoors to infrared saunas. The 2-person infrared sauna will cost about $2,995.00 from Crystal Sauna only. It has a wall-to-wall heating system, 10 carbon fiber heaters with a total of 4,170 square inches heating surface area, ergonomic backrests (I’ve always hated those sauna rooms without proper seats), thick tempered glass door and windows and 24″ deep bench.
